- Assistant Director of Campus Support/Auxiliary Services
Operations and Facilities Management, WashU Medicine
People are the main focus for WashU Medicine’s Lauren Hurt, assistant director of campus support and auxiliary services. In her six years with the university, Hurt has supported events on WashU Medicine’s campus, particularly at the Eric P. Newman Education Center (EPNEC). She coordinates with various departments and programs to execute meetings and events that showcase the incredible work that occurs for the university. Additionally, she oversees the management of shared spaces and supports food and auxiliary services across the medical campus.

“Seeing events come to fruition, bringing campus members together and sharing exciting research keeps me and the team motivated.”
~ Lauren Hurt
After college, Hurt was seeking something new. She left her hometown and moved to St. Louis, where she found a supportive community within WashU Medicine in the fall of 2018.
“Immediately, I felt supported and seen by my colleagues and leadership team as they helped me not only navigate my new position but also acclimate to life in St. Louis,” Hurt said. “I have remained in the same department throughout my six years, and I have no idea where I would be if it weren’t for my colleagues and leadership team supporting me along the way.”
The community and people at WashU are Hurt’s “why,” and she encourages anyone looking to start their career to consider the university. Outside of work, Hurt enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring the greater St. Louis area and cozying up with her cat to binge-watch a good TV show.
