WashU Medicine’s Chief Nursing Executive, Sherry Banez-Muth, has been with the university since 1996. Her decades of service and dedication are rooted in a deep commitment to WashU Medicine’s clinical mission and service culture. Recently promoted to Chief Nursing Executive, as of April 1, 2025, Banez-Muth reflects on what keeps her motivated after nearly three decades at WashU Medicine.

Throughout her time on the medical campus, Banez-Muth has served in multiple departments. These experiences have not only broadened her professional perspective but also allowed her to collaborate with a diverse group of employees and leaders.

Outside of work, Banez-Muth finds joy in staying active and spending quality time with friends and family. She enjoys playing tennis and golf and looks forward to traveling the world now that her children are older.
