• Special Billing and Collections Coordinator
Department of Medicine – WashU Medicine

Tracee Wright is currently a special billing and collections coordinator for WashU Medicine’s Department of Medicine. She previously worked with the WashU Medicine Department of Neurology beginning in 2021, where she assisted patients and their families by scheduling appointments and helping ensure a smooth, supportive experience.

Although Wright recently transitioned to a new position with the Department of Medicine’s Special Billing and Collections team, her encouragement, patience and positivity continue to define her work. From verifying that insurance is in network to obtaining authorizations, she approaches each task with care, attention to detail and consistency.

My work contributes to WashU’s mission by supporting the important work happening behind the scenes and helping ensure our patients receive excellent care throughout their experience.

Wright also values WashU’s communication-driven culture. She credits WashU departments and teams for providing transparent, consistent updates that help her feel informed, connected and supported.

“I would tell [future employees] that WashU is a supportive and collaborative place to grow your career,” Wright said. “The university values communication, professional development and teamwork, making it a great environment to learn and make a real impact.”

Outside of work, Wright enjoys spending time with her family and helping those in need. She lives by a simple motto: My life is great and will only get better.
